We landed around 12:30 pm. The airport was very quiet, and we were through immigration in a couple of minutes. We used our-pre-bought Lufthansa Express Bus tickets for the 1:05 pm bus to the Nordfriedhof stop. We walked about 10 minutes to the Marriott Munich on Berlinerstrasse.
The day was warm and sunny, actually warmer than usual. After relaxing a while, we walked to the English Garden, entering off Mommsenstrasse, and walked down along paths to Biergarten Hirschau for a half liter of beer (we shared) and a soft pretzel.
Kleinhesseloher See (lake) and the Seehaus beer garden in the English Garden.
We then walked out of the garden, mostly west to Leopoldstrasse to a bank ATM. We headed back to the hotel up Leopoldstrasse. The most notable sight was near the Münchner Freiheit U6 stop — A magnificent work by Art Nouveau architect Martin Dülfer (Leopoldstraße 77), in which he himself lived. The colorful floral ornaments and asymmetrical parts of the building are typical Art Nouveau elements.
Back at the hotel, tired from the trip, we ate at the Champions Restaurant right at the hotel.
